Gandhi had a Dream

Filed under: My Cup of Socie-Tea — Santhosh @ 11:50 PM

On this day, the 60th anniversary of the day we won Independence, I feel we need to examine one of Gandhi’s dreams : Of having a woman walk without fear in the streets at night. This particular wish of his, for reasons best known to him but taken here in a benevolent context for the purpose of the mentioned analysis, has been realised to more than a certain extent. So, maybe we should go ahead and change the Dream for the next 60 years to :

A dream of having a female profile on Orkut without getting “make friendship” (s)craps.

On a related note, what’s with “Happy Independence Day”?????
Today is the ANNIVERSARY of the day we won independence.
Oru ‘Day’ nu solita, adhula oru Happy a add panikaradha?
